Busy months
don't cost extra.

Flatdesk is an email and chat help desk for teams of 3 to 15. It's $39 per agent a month billed yearly, or $49 month to month. Each agent gets 100 AI answers a month. When the team runs out, the AI stops. It doesn't bill you more.

Flat rate

Many help desks charge for each AI answer. Flatdesk charges per agent.

An AI answer is a reply the AI sends a customer by itself, by email or in your chat, with nobody on your team involved. When you pay per answer, a launch or a holiday rush shows up on your invoice. Here the bill depends only on how many agents you have, and the AI stops at its limit unless an admin says otherwise.

Every AI answer is on your statement, and you can refund the bad ones.

Each month lists every ticket the AI answered, the macros and articles it used, and whether the answer counted. If one was wrong, an admin refunds it with one click. It stops counting and the ticket goes back to your team.

  • One plan, and every seat gets every feature
  • Refunded answers go back into your allowance, or come off any overage
  • Download the month as a CSV

Why it costs less, and what you give up.

If the price looks low for what's included, here's why: where the savings come from, what Flatdesk doesn't do, and how to check the quality on your own tickets before you pay.

  • Each AI answer costs us a few centsAnswers are written by Claude Opus from Anthropic. Each costs us cents, so 100 per seat fit in the seat price. That's also why the AI stops at the limit instead of billing you more, and nobody's price goes up to cover another team's busy month.
  • No sales team to pay forYou sign up and pay on your own, so the price doesn't have to cover demos and sales calls.
  • One plan, so nothing is held backTiers exist to push you onto a bigger plan. With one plan, every seat gets everything.
  • It does less, on purposeFlatdesk handles email and chat for teams of 3 to 15. No phone, social channels or app marketplace means much less to build and run.
AI macros

Flatdesk turns the replies your team keeps retyping into macros.

A macro is a saved reply. Your team sends it with one click instead of typing the same answer again. Flatdesk finds the answers your team keeps retyping and the AI writes each one up as a macro for you to check and save. When a price or policy changes, the AI suggests an update from your team's edits. AI answers reply to customers by themselves; macros are for the tickets your team still answers. They come with every seat and don't use AI answers.

  1. 01Flatdesk notices repeated repliesYour team answers customers as usual. When roughly the same answer has gone out on 5 tickets and no macro covers it, Flatdesk flags it. Imported tickets count, so this works on day one.
  2. 02The AI drafts a macroIt reads those replies and writes one macro, with blanks for things like the customer's name or order number.
  3. 03It shows up on new ticketsYou check it and save it. When a new ticket asks the same thing, the reply box offers it and one click fills it in. The AI answers from your macros too.

If your team keeps making the same edit, the AI suggests an update.

Say your shipping time changes. Agents fix it by hand each time they send the macro. Once most sends carry the same edit, the AI rewrites the macro and you apply it in one click.

  • The count starts over after each update
  • Your placeholders, greeting and sign-off stay as they are
  • Included in every seat. Zendesk sells macro suggestions in its $50 Copilot add-on.
How AI macros work

One click on a macro can also assign, tag and close the ticket.

  • Writes the replyWith the customer's first name already filled in.
  • Assigns the ticketRefunds to Ana, bugs to your developer, whoever owns it.
  • Sets the statusClosed, pending or open, once the reply goes out.
  • Adds tagsSo reports and assignment rules pick it up.
  • Sends right awayOne click, for answers that need no checking.

Elsewhere, AI help with macros costs extra or needs a higher plan. Flatdesk includes it.

Everything else

Everything else a help desk needs, for the same price.

There's one plan, and every agent gets every feature.

The AI replies to customers on its own, and stops at your limit.

When an email or chat comes in, the AI answers from your macros, help articles and the facts you give it, and sends the reply itself. When it isn't sure, or the customer is upset or asks about their account, it hands the ticket to your team. Each agent adds 100 AI answers a month to a shared pool.

  • Stops at the included amount unless an admin turns on overage
  • Admins get an email at 80% and 100%
  • Test it on 50 past tickets your team answered first
How the AI test drive works

Email and chat in one inbox.

Forward your support email and add one line of code to your site for chat. Every conversation becomes a ticket anyone on the team can pick up.

  • Views for mine, unassigned, open, pending and closed
  • Internal notes the customer never sees
  • Rules like "if tagged billing, assign to Sam"

See how fast you reply and how much the AI took on.

Tickets by channel, how long first replies and resolutions take, how many tickets the AI answered, and how many each agent handled.

  • Last 7, 30 or 90 days
  • Replies, closed and open tickets for each agent
  • AI answered versus handed off

Built for small support teams. Here's what it doesn't do.

A good fit if you

  • Have 3 to 15 people answering email and website chat
  • Want AI answers without paying for each one
  • Keep typing the same replies and want macros made for you
  • Use Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk or Help Scout and want to bring your old tickets

Look elsewhere if you need

  • Phone, SMS, WhatsApp and social channels
  • An app marketplace
  • Full SLA policies with escalations (first-reply targets only)
  • A help center in several languages or on your own domain
  • Shopify order data in the ticket
Where other help desks are ahead

How to switch.

One admin can do all four steps. The AI doesn't reply to any customer until you turn it on.

  1. Step 1Import your historyPaste an API key from Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk or Help Scout. Tickets come over with full threads, plus customers, macros and tags. Simple rules like "if tagged X, assign to Y" keep working. Other rules are copied for reference.
  2. Step 2Connect email and chatForward your support email and add one line of code to your site for chat. You can stop forwarding any time.
  3. Step 3Test drive the AIThe AI drafts replies to the last 50 tickets your team answered, next to what your team sent. Customers see none of it.
  4. Step 4Turn it onTurn on AI answers, invite your team, and cancel your old help desk when you're ready.

Nothing gets dropped in the import.

Each ticket keeps its original record, and a report lists anything Flatdesk couldn't match. You can download the raw data. Running the import again won't create duplicates.

How the import works

Try it on your own tickets first.

Import your old tickets and see AI drafts for the last 50 your team answered, next to your team's replies. Free for 14 days, no card needed.

Moving a small team off Zendesk or Freshdesk?Apply to be a design partner. You get half off, and we run the import for you.

A few teams get 50% off monthly billing for 12 months ($24.50 per agent), and we run the import for them. The discount replaces the yearly price. It doesn't stack with it.
